Good catch!
I looked at the film again and thought to myslef, they look like previous generation Lebaron convertibles, which were availible in a pale yellow. So I looked back at post #111, and sure enough, per Allpar, 1986 Lebaron Convertibles were provided by Chrysler!

I remember seeing this car in Northern IN in 2009 with put all the extra red. It looked better then.

1991 Question: The Pace cars were Viper prototypes, I wonder what they gave the winner as the award car? A new Stealth? Or did they wait and give a 92 production Viper?
