How about the 1951 Indy 500 pace car (Chrysler New Yorker) down in Bloomington, Indiana at Indiana. University setting the pace at the first Little 500. For those who do not know what the Little 500 is, it's a annual bicycle race held at Indiana University during the third weekend in April. The race was founded in 1951 by Howdy Wilcox Jr., executive director of the Indian university Student Foundation, who modeled the race after the Indy 500 which his father had won in 1919. Racers compete in teams of four, racing rely style for 200 laps (50 miles) along a quarter mile track. Thirty three teams are selected in qualifications trials to compete in the main race. Money raised by the event goes towards a scholarship fund for working IU students.

In 2000, Dodge provided official trucks, like this Ram Dually, for the F1 USGP in Indianapolis :

2 1996 Indy 500 Rams within 2 miles of my home.

The one with the original wheels has been sitting in the Walgreens parking lot with no plates for 2 months now. The other is a daily driver.

Just found this thread doing a search as I own a 91 Dakota with the Indy 500 decals on it and it supposedly was an officials truck there. I really would like to see the photos that pacecal posted, but they are not showing up. Does Pacecal or anyone else have these photos. I would greatly appreciate any help. I believe that this truck was not a convertible during the Indy 500 as the date of conversion by ASC was 7/91
