So about a year ago, I picked up a 1991 S10 Blazer 2 door RWD for $500. I've always had an itch to v8 conversion one of these since my early 20's when they came out with the Typhoon, thought it was just bad ass look and pretty quick for a v-6. Not sure which direction I'm going with this project, could keep it stock with the 4.3L and 4L60E, I do have most of the parts to drop a SBC in it, and I do have a full frame and running gear from a 94 Olds bravada with the AWD unit in it to where I could shorten the frame and drop it, essentially building my own Typhoon with a twist...an all aluminum 5.3L slightly pumped.
Anyways, I've done a little to it so far, almost done with redoing the interior, added power windows, different center console to make it a floor shift. Been under a tarp since last year, so hauled it to my shop and will be my winter project soon as I'm done with my plow truck in a month. For now, think I will just do the valve seals, they are shot and makes great James Bond smoke screen when you get on it, lol. Maybe by spring will know what I want to do for the power train.

Also works very well for 70-80's cast iron smc too! Even with a carb! Yikes!
Of course I would run propane with a high compression 383... 60 series rear tires kinda bald..

Nope, they just came off there. I have access to the full typhoon body kit and while it looks cool, want to do all the weight minimizing possible. Trying to find an 8.5 out of the 96 up rwd blazer to put in there and transfer battery to rear for weight shift.

And get disc brakes as a bonus.

They are out there, just hard to find since the 2wd rear axle is about 4" narrower than the 4x4.

I had one that I robbed all the crap off of for the brakes for my Chevelle and well I scrapped the rest of it. Look to a wrecked xtreme or any ZQ8 truck. They will have what your looking for and a quick ratio steering box. Or you can pull a steering box off a Grand Cherokee they had quick ratio boxes that bolt right on and grab the shaft too. See now your going to my roots with a dime lol
