thanks scoots. i have 15x8 oem now, im wanting larger diameter wheels so i can source 10 ply tires, and a greater choice of tires. it also makes it easier to find larger (as in 17") wheel tire sets from the junk yard.

that sure is a clean underside you got!
Was clean before Carrizo Plains trip Sticky Mud The outside didnt get too muddy but the underside was coated spent 30min at the coin op wash spraying down still have 2lb chunks falling off
My plan is to get 17"s as well figure I could take out some sidewall play

that is same color combo mine was from the factory. some one covered it with orange, bright, ugly , ghetto house orange. seems 17 inch tires and wheels are the most common these days in the used tire shops, and the wrecking yards. i would be happy with 15 inch, if anyone offered a good tire anymore.

what kind of tire you looking for? It seems lots of good tire options in 15, but maybe you mean load range?

That's an old aftermarket truss.

Axle guy told me it didn't add much benefit, so I removed it. since I'm keeping the little 10 bolt for now I'll drive it till it breaks. It seemed for likely to get caught up on rocks etc...

No offence to anyone here, but I would never put Toyota wheels on a squarebody

I hope you didn't pitch it, people pay decent money for them. It's a nostalgia thing.

Damn wish I knew

Bummer! I think I paid around 100 bucks for mine and thought I got a good deal. There's folks that pay more.

I'm looking at the Method MR701 wheels in 17 x 8.5. They have them with 0 mm offset which should give them a 4.5 backspacing. I want a 33 - 34" tall tire x 10.5-11.5 wide tire on my Suburban and it seems like this should fit but I get blowback from all the dealers telling me I need a 4" lift to make them fit. I currently run 33x10.5 on the stock rims.....15x6 now with no issues and am confused why the 17.5x8.5 won't fit. The added space of the 17 inch wheels should help clear the tie rods easily. I ran 33 x 12.5 tires on my M1009 without any issues on spacing prior to my swapping out the M1009 to the V1500 Suburban. Neither vehicle has any additional lift from factory.
