modern size wheels that fit squarebody chevies

yep, i searched. question is, are we stuck with the squarebody wheels, or buying new wheels, or are their any other oem wheels that will fit a 6 hole squarebody.
i can give a big rats ass how it looks, i want to know options so i can find some 10 ply grippers to go on my k5. it appears choice vs availability vs price has gone toward the larger more modern sizes, so, we must adapt?
price being my main concern here. so preferably i could find fair used tire and wheels in the scrapyards, but dont know what fits or what wont.
example, my k1500 had 16in tires on aftermarket wheels, which allowed a bigger size tire and 10 ply. but i got rid of that truck.

are you needing the lug pattern or do you mean the pattern but in 16 inch? (or 15)
Im pretty sure most wheel sights let you sort by vehicle then show options and I believe chevy 6 lug was the same from this time till the 2000s, in terms of the lug pattern alone. no idea of fitment with brakes or anything. i could be wrong.

There are plenty of 16" wheels available.
The 6 bolt is on a 5.5" circle.
And you need a 4.5" backspacing...

Most of the wheel manufacture's website just show there new gaudy fugly 20'+ rims, but if you dig a little deeper you will find
16s.

i need to know what "other vehicle" wheels will fit our trucks.
wheel websites tell you stuff we already know, and try to sell you shiny objects, but do not show interchange. i am not particular about the 15", i am however curious about those that will fit and be a more modern size. 15 is so "dinosaur" when shopping for tires. im a 15 inch fan, but onlly 6 ply is available and that is in the chinese copycats like crosswind and such. most are 4 ply. 10 ply starts at 16"

There are many 17" wheel options I've seen for 6 lug.
This is the current bolt pattern on Chevy half tons.
Just have to watch out for backspace and bore size to fit the front hub.

I used a 2000's chevy rim as a spare on my K5 before. Fit the back but would not go over the front hub.

Try pro comp, American racing, KMC, MT, Moto Metal...

I believe he is asking what other OEM wheels will fit the square body trucks. To that question, I don't know the answer.

Wheels from the newer GM trucks can fit, but only after have the center opening bored out. They have a lot more backspacing too. The squarebody trucks are the newest vehicle with the 6-lug pattern that still had (and need) the larger center opening.

More backspacing means the tire will be sucked into the wheel wells more, making the track width narrower. Unless the machinist botches the job, the wheel will still run true.

You will also have to cut the front center caps so the locking hubs can poke through. It's been done a time or two, but most folks consider it to be awkward looking.

k. thanks . any more good wheels to find? im assuming 2000 model is not one off? and will the later (2000ish) wheels work on front after boring the hole for the hub?
aint worried about awkward looking, hell, im awkward looking! lol

With regards to the 2000 model you ask about. The 6 lug pattern on the full size GM trucks are same from 1999 in pickups/2000 in utilities thru the current 2020 model year.

I don't think they will work. They will run into tie rods no? Plus, why would anyone want to make their truck more tippy reducing track width. The best thing about larger tires imo is making the truck handle better with wider track width.

I think you wind up slightly limited in turn radius on a right turn because the tire will hit the drag link.

And it's all four wheels that need the center bored. The rear needs done to clear the register on the axle flange.

Running wheel spacers could simplify things, but it's just another added cost.
