Modern rearview mirror in a square

If you went route of car mirror with onlyl compass and autodim the only wires needed are power, ground, and reverse switch

But looking up more, if you want map lights(I would love that in my f150 and square) or you want homelink (Or both), then you can get a mirror with said options. my car already has homelink but nothing else except my aurora does. If you have a driver side or passenger or both chromatic mirror, you could control them with the sensor on the rearview, too. I never have troubles on my passenger side with glare because any car in that mirror is at a very very steep angle (blindspot) so i notice them anyway because of lighting, and anything else would be too far off to even have the angle on my lens to shine in my eyes.
One perk of having a mirror pointed at your blindspot unlike most drivers. Sucks on driver side at night because freeways typically hit ya more in the eye but you can just adjust it then
The one I found has compass, temp and auto dim. Side mirror dim is nice to have, I have it on my other cars but I wouldn't want to change my original style mirrors.

I like these simple ones I have when I get ready. They have 3 Homelink buttons to be used for garage and gate openers and a compass with auto dim. No Temp. Only 3 wires. I think they are 12v Constant, 12V Keyed and Ground. Simple Simple !!! I have 2 of those and 1 that is only Compass, Temp and Auto Dim and it has humpteen jazillion wires and I can't imagine what they are all for.

In my park avenue I really want temp display on my rearview(despite having it on my HVAC), i guess maybe I like the idea that more info=better, because the LCD is the same size as the one with JUST compass. And more rather look at mirror while driving than my hvac down low, conicides with my HUD i use instead of speedo. Im upgrading mine to in-mirror turn signals and getting the audo mirror when i can. L u x u r y but i know that despite how plug and play it will mostly be, im not that motivated to do it rn lol.

Not necessary, but those reading lamps i mentioned that can be found in certain cars... those i would really like. not because my car interior isnt illuminated

It would just be cool to have a seamless integrated feature that would take up the same amount of space that i could use whenever, would come on with doors, and would be more practicle for passenger to use while driving. And have temp, compass, homelink(because the 3 on my car already arent enough), etc! **** onstar tho, no one needs that trash. Backup camera would be cool but you cant option all those together unless it were a REALLY rare combo i dont think

as far as square goes, would be nice to have forward lighting in the cab instead of one on the floor, one in my dash(backlighting for hvac, no use for socket so temporarily using it for mood lighting), and one in the rear of the cab

Right, homelink would need constant 12 since you can use with the car off.
I have seen some with 15 wires but I avoided grabbing one of those, overkill.

I loved my Avalanche that had Homelink in the overhead console. I had 2 garage doors so whichever door I wanted opened I had the left button for left door, right button for right door and the center button I had programmed for my mom's garage door. Which came in handy one time when she locked her keys in her truck in her driveway and her garage door remote in her truck, she couldn't get in the house to get her spare key. So I just drove over and hit her homelink button and opened her garage for her, she was in the house and got the spare key. So yeah, I liked Homelink alot.

Most of the extra wires are outputs to the dimming outside door mirrors. Unless you can find a way to cleanly mount those fancy mirrors to the doors, those wires aren’t needed.

My suv homelink is setup exactly the same. 2 doors for my house and one for my mom's. Definitely nice to have.

I didn't even tell my mom I had her door opener programmmed to my truck. It was just something I did when she was occupied. Being a single widow never know when ther'd be an emergency and I needed to get in. You know how they are, they think they're invincible and nothing can happen. It turned out handy at least a couple of times. Not for medical emergencies thankfully.
