Manifold vacuum Tee

Gents, I’m looking to replace this manifold Tee off of my 1985 305
The tee came off of my factory intake and won’t tighten well on my aluminum performer intake. If I turn it To the position that is tight and favors accessibility I’m pretty confident it’s going to bigger the threads.

For some reason it’s bent…

I needs to be a 3 port and one of those ports needs to be on top for my trans. Any suggestions or links are appreciated.

Wrap it with Teflon tape. Doesn't need to be very tight just snug. Being bent won't hurt anything as long as it isn't broken. Don't try to straighten it. Pot metal will break.

This is exactly what I was going to say but you beat me to it.

You can also find these T’s in classic parts catalogs online, and some have the same connections but might be oriented better for your needs. For example, they might have all the ports oriented left to right and at right angles, with none pointing straight up. This keeps all the connections lower and out of the way.

Just google search for GM intake manifold vacuum T and look at the choices. Nearly all of them have the 3/8” threaded connection for your intake.

If it's not a 100 point restoration, sometimes the plumbing department at a local hardware or big box store will have something that will work.

Appreciate the pointers gents,

The truck isn’t a 100 point restoration, it’s a very nice 85 that was underpowered. Upgraded to a mild 350 and I’m trying to have it as clean / professional and era appropriate as possible.

I’m gonna try the corvette link since it is probably my best no risk solution.

The Teflon may well work and it’s a good suggestion but another 20$ and some piece of mind will serve me well.

My only yes, but on that is your not going to change how the threads are cut in the manifold, so if the new tee doesn't wanna sit where you'd like it, put a little teflon tape on it.

You are correct on that, the issue that I’m having is because of that bend in the photo. The Tee effectively bottoms out so the additional rotation is likely to strip the threads on the aluminum intake.

I do have Teflon tape and will certainly do 2 wraps.

You guys have been super helpful. I ordered the part (10$ shipping!)
