What is everyone doing for their throttle cables? My truck is a K30. I swapped in a 5.3L LM7 and installed a DBC throttle body and a cable bracket from a 2000 truck. I am trying to use my stock throttle pedal and the ~38" GM throttle cable (15040848). Everything installs nicely but the travel of the pedal only gives me a little over half throttle at the throttle body.

I have seen suggestions such as bending the throttle pedal fulcrum, using a crimp lead weight on the throttle cable, or swapping out the throttle wheel. I am going for OEM fit/finish and I'm hoping there are better options.

I used the Gm cable on my swap, 73 C10 5.3/4l60e. The wire was to long at the pedal and I cut the crimped stop off and I'm using a barrel nut like was used on a 69 air cooled VW Beetle throttle cable. I left the wire long and positioned the barrel nut where I wanted it.

I bought ten of them from here: https://airheadparts.com/vw-part/barrel-clamp-w-bolt-heater-cbl-accel-cbl/

I just bent the stock pedal assembly up a bit so that at rest it was putting a little tension on the cable. It doesn't take much.

Yeah. I ended up bending the pedal in a vise and it worked pretty well.
