Sbc 383 with a roller cam (#12-422-8) and hydraulic roller lifter (#17-5372-16). Noise is present during cold start and dissipates as engine warms up. No noise is noticed after engine is up to 160+ temp.
For reference the motor has less than 5k miles on it and i am using 10w-30 oil and oil pressure is up around 40 while idling.

I will be pulling valve covers today to inspect. I may also replace exhaust header gasket today as well to ensure its no just a exhaust leak.

Any input is appreciated.

Not critical to your issue/question at hand, but your valve cover spreader bars are on upside down.

But to the question at hand, check valves as @DoubleDingo shows, also note if any are loose, loose.

Check your header bolt tightness too, sometimes they loosen up (or gasket compresses) just enough to start leaking, then once heated up seals. Tighten them back up and leak goes away.

If you suspect exhaust leak, get a stethoscope. They are very inexpensive at HF.

Bad fuel pumps or worn push rods can sometimes sound like a loose lifter.

When covers are off watch for similar rocker movement between cylinders. Worn valve train is another possibility. If equipped, are you using high zinc oil compatible with flat tappets?

I just realized you said you have rollers, so I was curious, and 1 turn past zero lash is good for hydraulic roller. On some flat tappet lifters 1/2 turn is best. What I shared was for flat tappet, but the firing order is the same, so the valves adjusted is also in the same order.

so the up tips of the bars need to be down? Never seen that.
Looking at op's again looks like they are on right, the ends of the "legs" are kicked up more than I'm used to seeing and the camera angle is leading to some trickery.

This is what I'm more used to seeing:

I have a stethoscope and frankly I’m having a heard time isolating the noise. It sounds loudest when touching the head between the headers and valve cover, but I could also be wrong. No flat tappets.
