I have the same problem with two I got from Classic. They screw in but run out of threads before they tighten up.

I have the same problem with two I got from Classic. They screw in but run out of threads before they tighten up.

This is why I am so relentlessly pursuing NOS OEM parts all the time. Aftermarket just does not cut it.

Yep. I didn't know if he was wanting to know what it was or telling what it was. Looked back a few posts and didn't see anything about it, other than, Here is a pic. I was lost.

How did you run the wires from the door jamb. My 86 is like yours in that it had no dome light from the factory and an old switch that was falling out in the door jamb. Went to take it out and chase the wires. I pulled the half kick panel cover off and it was all metal, no access to wires.

I like them overhead counsil things from the Suburbans,I think I will be seeking for one of those when I get the 79 into the garage.A lot of changes`ll be happening.LOL

i know this is old did ya ever getting it working my 87 is the same no dome light but i do have the door switches
