Front cast iron axle. Had to add those shims to get rid of some axial play.

Also had some play in this swivel plate so I shaved a little off the spacer to tighten it up some.

Replaced these tie rod bushings. This is a lousy setup IMO.

Factory muffler welded back up. These parts are getting hard to find.

Nice mower hoist! Steering looks dry. Grease the heck out of your steering gear and anything else there that moves and makes contact and slides. Should help keep it from wearing out too premature.

Bought this Husky in '05, has 230 hours on it now. These are essentially the same as the Craftsman riders, but I got this one because of its 15hp Kawasaki V-twin engine. Runs really well. I've replaced the spindle bearings a couple of times, and just recently replaced the spindles themselves because it was cheaper than buying the bearings separately. Only other issue was the electric clutch for the blade engagement shorted-out and had to be replaced.

Does double duty as a tow rig for my little yard chipper.

As long as we're covering yard maintenance, wanted to show this field trimmer.

A friend gave this to me after it fell off a truck where he worked. This had been badly used and abused, it had some broken parts and was rusty from sitting in a storage yard right by the ocean for many years. I took it all apart and sandblasted everything, replaced the parts that needed to be, and covered the deck in rattle-can Herculiner.

Added a couple of custom touches with some aluminum plate on the deck and a steel grill for pushing into heavy brush. The tube for carrying extra trimmer line was a bar from an old towel rack, lol.

@skysurfer your right about it pretty much being a craftsman. There all made by MTD. Husqvarna part numbers are same as craftsman except the first 3 digits I believe. Your rider is probably one of the best riders ever built. those kawasaki engines run good!!
