K30 Skid plate CUCV

this skid plate came off of a 1985 CUCV
but it will fit any k30 as long as it has the flat crossmember
I have 2 of them

should fit in a large flat rate box

I'm pretty sure this also fits the K/V 10/1500 and K/V 20/2500 trucks too so long as it also uses the flat type crossmember for the tall Tcase adapters.

This looks like there should be a skid plate on it to me. What you have doesn't fit there, does it?

It depends on your cross member but yes, i fyou have the "Flat" crossmember, the two piece transmission rubber (or poly mounts) along with the long foot adapter, then yes, I think that is your skid plate.

I dunno what is a long foot adaptor. I guess that hole goes on the transfer case side?

See it drop in the middle ?
I do not consider that to be very "flat".

Yours is the older version of the flat one from the looks of it.... Top in this picture.

I think the first one in this picture is an old style flat that ran from 67 through 75 or 76 or maybe a bit later, and then the bottom one is the W style they started using in 1985, which used a short foot adapter and if you see how far up the middle of the W is compared to the center of the crossmember that is what makes it either a long or short foot adapter.


This photo below is the one that ran in between the years. I ended up using it on mine because the adapter that someone included with my setup was the long foot adapter.

I'm pretty sure that is the right crossmember. for my skid plates

Yeah the flat ones actually have a flat shape for the skid plate and the W ones are curved a little on the edges so as long as its flat you should be ok. I was looking for one but decided I am going to build a custom crossmember before I start driving my rig and basically make cradle that has a large skit plate for the transfer case to be completely protected because of the way it hangs down so much with the np208.

I've never been 100 % sure but maybe that is a HD crossmember for the 1 ton 4 x 4...s I just know my 77 K5 had one like the bottom picture, and my 1985 should have the W and from earlier reaserch that is when they started the W, but I could never figure out when and where that very top one was fitted but I know it shared the same rubber mounts as the mounts on the bottom one. I think you'd be safe with that skid plate though and if the holes don't line up quote 100 % drilling them to match would be easy enough.
