Anybody ran one of these ? they can be ordered from LMC for about $499 + shipping. Just wondering if their any better than paying for a truck avenger or other carb.

I have a stage 2 on my 78 and love it . It's a .030 over 350 , steel crank , 9.8 to 1 forged piston's , 270 comp magnum hyd. retro fit roller cam , 202 heads with roller rocker's , mildly ported , header's , eddie air gap intake , msd ignition.
So if your motor is pumped up it's a great carb. but for a stock or a mild rv cam motor I would go the stage 1

why not run a stage 1 if it's not modified?

I seen a guy oin another forum have his leak and they would not replace it since the warranty, 30,60 or 90 days whichever it is was up.

I say save more coin and run an edelbrock or reg. holley. I see no need in paying for a special holley, like truck, lowrider, street, any of them avenger things.

Hell I'm just curious :D, Doubt I'd drop 500 right off for a carb.

Also, check out SMI - www.simcarburetor.com

Not saying one is better than the other, just shop around.

HE MEANS WWW.SMICARBURETOR.COM. SEAN MURPHY INDUCTION

I bought one last year from a recomendation from a member on here and I also highly reccomend it. Almost like fuel injection, no bog! I only know its a carb because when it is cold it has a 2 minute mini bog when the electric choke is fully heated up and the truck is coming to temp. Very minor and I could richen it up to get it completely gone but it is not worth it. As the guage is climbing I can barely feel it but once its at operating temp it is perfect.

I would not run an edelbrock carb on my golf cart , but thats just me.
I love holley's , (have them on most of my rides) but here in cali you cant get by the sniffer test with either a holley or an eddie so if you dont want to change carbs all the time a q-jet is the way to go and they work really well at all angles off road and you can get pretty good mpg's if you stay out of the secondary's. My holley's work great as well but they drink the gas and the jet has been on the 78 for 2 years now and it has been flawless.

Summit , jet stage 2 389.99
holley truck avenger 670 409.99 (a really good carb. IMO)

no clue why anyone would not run an edelbrock we've never had any trouble with them. couldn't be any easier to rebuild either.
