well if it's stroked down for emissions then it's not the exact same, it's a less powerful version of an otherwise decent engine and has a shorter stroke for the sake of emissions. Sounds crappy to me...

The truck does everything an old truck needs too. It hits the mountain 4x4 trails no problems, it runs up and down the coast no problem, it takes the kids to school no problem why would I need a more powerful engine to do any of that. Remember "More then a handful is a waste"

IIRC, the 360 was only used in trucks, but I don’t think it was destroked just for emissions. The 352 was the smaller engine in cars, so I assume the 360 must have had some other feature that made it work better in trucks.

Ford FE engines are good, reliable engines, and if you can find high Performance 390 or Cobrajet 428 heads they can be built for high performance.

Better keep it in the garage, you don't want your friends to see you driving it. Kind of like dating a fat girl.....

If friends are that judgmental you don't need them.
My friends are decent people that have standards, that's WHY I like to keep them around. If I did something shameful I would expect my friends to give me grief about it. People who just want to run around all willy-nilly and be trash are the ones I don't need.

Your title says "born in the wrong era", but with an attitude like that unless you're talking about the future I'd say you're right at home in 2020...
"We're all special, let's everyone be friends and be proud of everything about ourselves!" SMH please have some decency.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Ford like that one right there. As long as it was in good shape. Those old Ford's are cool.

Here's a useless factoid: That Ford is sitting on the bottom of our local lake. The paved road is an old highway which disappeared under water in 1962 after the dam was built but resurfaced a few years ago due to increased demand from development and ten years of below-average rainfall. The water level is currently 65 feet below normal but was even lower last summer. I've tracked the road where the truck is parked on my sonar while trolling but couldn't anchor because I only carry 50' of rope. Nowadays, as you walk along the pavement you see dozens and dozens of crisscross lines caused by outboard motor skegs belonging to boaters that weren't paying attention to the changing water level.

I appreciate old trucks of any make or model, but this is GM.Don’t poison it up with GM vs Ford.

There’s plenty of forums for that.

GM GM GM,and now I’m at my happy place..........
