Well I ended up going on medical leave early this year so used my free time to get the truck running again.

I went with a dart tunnel ram intake, Fi tech fuel injection and cut an enormous hole in the hood so I could bolt on a harwood fiberglass cowl and now it all fits nicely under the hood.

The Fi tech is awesome, it's got a ton of power but I can't get enough fuel to it with a gm tpi fuel pump.

I went to install some centerline's on it 5 months ago and the rear wheel stud spun in the axle. Long story short, the beds off, differential out and apart, it's got new spring bushings, Cal Trac bars and it's sitting on jack stands.

Here's the new look, it's got the oval port vortec heads, dart tunnel ram, Fi tech fuel injection, new accel wires and a huge air filter with clear lid.

Found some bad ass centerline's, I got the rear lowered two inches. Planning a 2 inch spindle drop in the front and the meatiest tires I can find.

And here we are now waiting on parts. Doing a Detroit locker, lower gears in the 14 bolt and a fuel cell.

Awesome! Every review I see on the FiTech stuff has been very good, lots of happy customers. Have you taken it to a dyno or drag strip?

Fi tech is awesome, I'm just having hell getting fuel to it. You can gently drive it around no problem, as soon as you nail it the engine dies.

Still far from road ready, long ways from a dyno or strip.

So then you are not using the Fuel Command Center from FI Tech. What kind of PSI does the FI require? I thought I remember seeing 48-53psi? I think the TPI pumps are good for 40-45psi? That may be the problem at WOT.

I am happy to see you back on this! I have always loved the overall look of the 454SS trucks!

Ya swap that tpi pump for one from 96 5.7 gmt400. That should give you the fuel you need they run 60 psi...

Even starving for fuel it's like night and day, actually getting flow through the engine really woke it up. I'm excited to see what it's like to plant your foot in it.

I opted out of the fuel command system just to reduce clutter, I wanted to build my own fuel system but failed. The specs on the tpi pump showed clear into the 100psi range but pressure vs. flow put it right around 40. It's already got stainless braided hose from the tank with an fittings so I thought installing this tpi pump right into the factory sending unit would be enough but I was only getting 40 psi at my gauge installed right on the throttle body. The Fi tech required 58 psi constantly to work right.
