Doing it through the headliner helps the headliner from sagging too and I didn't have to worry about trying to fit the headliner tight against it as if I cut it. I predrilled a pilot hole for the screws. The only. Thing is it was a little rough finding the hole (I know, I know) with the headliner still up but the whole project took about 20 minutes including cutting it. I still have to run a hot wire for the nap lights. Will try to get that done next weekend.
