OK so everything I've done to the truck per hotrodpc request.
1 installed motor and new fuel pump
2 destroyed original transmission
3 installed a transmission that I knew worked great drove it 50 miles and it shifted great like it supposed to on my return trip about half way home the transmission would not shift like its supposed to. Since then it has not shifted right at all even after installing new fluid and filter 2 times and replacing the TV cable and adjusting it correctly. However it will have random days when it shifts almost perfect and other days it will not shift the right way at all and I have yet to even notice if it goes into overdrive and I still can't tell if its a lock up converted or not I'm really stumped and don't have the cash to keep tossing into fluid to pull the pan off now I have noticed that the TV will adjust itself wag out when I try to set its base line adjustments and the cable almost feels like its binding up but I have checked it routing several times and nothing seems to be bound up at all I really wish I had a way to have someone come look at this truck cuts this is the last week the moving permit is good and the smog shop will not touch it till it shifts better so I need HELP!!!!! in a bad way guys

Yeah, really making me think the TV Valve or TV Valve linkage is getting hung up somehow. Whether it be a piece of junk in the TV Valve bore, or burr on the valve, or piece of bent linkage or something. And that it's off and on again, is what makes me think junk in the valve moving around.

Sounds like the VB needs to come off for a good hand inspection/ cleaning....is there a liquid flush he can use?

That's kinda been my thought but I don't have the funds to pull the pan off to look at it harder and see if I can figure out what the issues are

If it could be trusted, I would say take it for a nice long drive while its shisting right, and let the detergents in the new fluid have a chance at it...its a 50/50 chance it could help.

so apperntly my father in law worked on my truck today while i was doing some stuff for him at his shop today and well to say the leaset he disconnected the TV cable drove the truck and found it made zero difference and now that he hooked it back up and now my transmission shifts from 1st at 45mph then from 2nd at 55-65mph and slips if i let off the gas a little it will drop to and from 2nd gear im a little pissed off about all this because even if the transmission was shifting bad at least it shifted to all its gears and stayed there could he have fudged up my transmission by driving it without the TV cable hooked up?

OK so I've been reading up off of Google search and read 10 arrivals of the TV valve getting stuck in the bore causing shifting issues exactly like what I'm having could this be the case and is it easy to remedy or is it a nightmare please advise to the current information I have found

See my quote above your quote??? I've already advised and confirmed it could be the TV valve getting stuck in the bore. I am just as stumped as you are on this with it being and off again, on again, coming and going problem, and that's really the only thing I can think of.
