If you had chance to do a extreme mod to your truck what would it be?

The problem I'm not real 'extreme' and like my rides more on the 'conservative' side anyway

I've always been one to let my imagination run wild.

When I was in Kindergarten, around the first day of school, all the parents and kids gathered to introduce themselves. The kids were asked what they wanted to be when they grew up. Every kid in the room said something like doctor or lawyer. I said I wanted to be a Transformer. Here I am, almost 30, and I still want to be Optimus Prime!

My projects are only limited by the depth of my wallet.

In that case I will just take a new valve stem cap on the right front wheel.:Moon:

Man, those are some lame "extreme mods".

My "realistic" extreme mod would a forced induction BBC and an adjustible suspension. Complete with a custom wire tuck. Not sure about which body style truck I would go with, though.

My true extreme mod would be a custom built frame with a fully modular suspension. Wanna drive a custom lowered truck through the summer and something with ground clearance and a transfer case in the winter? Wanna run through the mud bogs on the weekend but can't fit in the parking garage at work when you're sitting on 44's? Swap out whatever suspension pieces needed in a couple of hours with just a few major bolts to undo.

The scary thing is, I half think this could be done with a two post lift and a tubular frame design.

Now we're talkin'...

I'd take my 2wd swb and get a full tube chassis, ART suspension, chop my top like DV8, Twin-turbo 400sbc, and not sure what wheels/tires. Paint job would be similiar to Todd Emmons 454 round headlight truck but blue instead of orange.

For a 4wd I think I'd do like Old77 and get a crew and turn in into a shortbed but I'd want a 90-91 and put a lift on it with some good mud tires. Drop in a 5.7 12v Cummins and a NV4500 and other 4wheel goodies to keep me from breaking it. Something like this maybe? Minus the ugly running boards though...

hhhmmm that's a toss up.

I want to bag one, maybe body drop.

I would also like to solid axle swap my 88.

I'd convert the 85 into a 4x4. Then I'd lift it, and do some really nice wheels and tires. I'd do it all the right way and take my time.

I could do all that now, but it just isnt a priority now. I love driving this truck maybe even more than I like working on it.

I never elaborated here.

I want a truck with newer truck features without swapping dash or much of the interior, nor modding the exterior. I also want to go old school on the drivetrain.

Exterior:

1989-91 miniquad front end
1981-82 front bumper with turn signals modified in to driving lights
LED taillights
LMC clear/amber side markers modified to accept cornering lamps
Daytime running lamps
2/4 lowering
turn signals incorporated in the backup lamps (Euro style)
power; power folding; auto-dimming; heated side mirrors with puddle lamps and turn signals
16" 2000 Chevy Tahoe Classic Limited wheels or 454SS/Sport Chrome/Sierra GT wheels
Electric fuel door poppers
Toolbox hooked up to the keyless entry
Cab/third brake lights

Drivetrain:
Tuned port Injected 305 or 350
Moates Ostrich
700R4 trans

Interior: (here's the fun list)
Automatic headlamps
auto-dimming rear view mirror with compass/temp and HomeLink*
factory gauges with tach/fuel gauge; vacuum gauge; electronic speedometer
Digital climate control
Retained Accessory power
Adjustable pedals
dome light override
Overhead console with map lights and HomeLink*
Factory CD player
tilt/tele steering with airbag and steering wheel controls
automatic door locks
power vent windows
rear defrost
heated seats
Factory remote keyless entry with alarm
Express down windows (or one touch windows, you know the GM automatic down windows or whatever they are called)
Factory Vehicle Anti-Theft System (VATS - chip in key)
Driver Info Center

I'm sure I'm forgetting something and will think of it later.

I'm not sure how much of this is actually possible in a Squarebody...But I have confidence that at least 75% of this is attainable.

*HomeLink will be in one or the other....

For my personal ownership, I don't like to go too radical with the visible mods. I would like a nice street suspension setup and a Pearl Charcoal paint job with a blown, Direct-injected LS1 in it.

I would like to do the same as Fresno, with some hoops up front, traction bars and 4 link the front with a pan-hard bar. Then mabey do an lq4 and 14ff in the rear with 4:88 gears.. then of course run some sick welds.
