I finally gave up.

I used JustDashes.com in California. Expensive($1800) but only 3-4 months of waiting and you get what you want. They recover your old pad with better material less likely to crack.

I went with coverlay from summit. They had a good deal that came with decent door cards. I filled the cracks and sanded down the high spots, treated the little bit of rust underneath and then glued the coverlay over top.

After waiting 18 months for my dash pad kit, I finally gave up and told USA1 to pound sand. What a frustrating experience. I should have done this months ago. Needless to say will NEVER place an order with USA1 again.

Once the refund clears I will be dash pad shopping again. Any recommendations are welcome!

Sorry, but couldn’t include a picture of the non-existent dash pad. lol
Like others I used LMC Truck, been using them for years without any issues

I had a shop look at mine yesterday and the owner said he could re-cover it, but it would have visible seams. Don’t think I want that.

I had my El Camino dash recovered before they
made re-pops. It has seams but its hand fit, padded and looks better than the original. On the Stepside I just covered it with a dash mat and called it good!

Mine was destroyed, I repaired it. I prepare the colors with two-coat car paint and then I give matte varnish

Because USA1 Industries is a criminal enterprise that takes your money up front, tells you it'll be 16 weeks, and a year and a half later you're still waiting. While LMC is a reasonably well-run operation that ships when they say they will.

I can't believe it because USA 1 is cheaper than the LMC truck that you buy there? I still do not understand

No; they do have some stuff that's nice quality (if you ever get it), and offer some parts/packages that other companies don't.

For example; when I wanted door panels for my Burgundy '87 Silverado, LMC only had black (or tan or blue) for the door panels. Some of the insert pieces were dyed, some weren't (they were black.) They did not offer assembly.

USA-1 offered complete door panels, assembled, in SEM matched burgundy. They were about $20 more than me buying all the pieces (half in black), having to dye them myself, and assemble. They even would add window/lock switches to the package for me.

They offer convenient, and competitive, prices for that stuff. If they shipped in a reasonable time, I'd love them. Between them and Orange Country Truck Parts (who has since changed their name), I had a few thousand dollars in promised parts that took forever to arrive. One truck I was working on for a client, I *forgot* Orange Co still owed me some plastic underhood insulation screws/clips. The truck was gone (completed, done, checks cashed) for near a year, my American Express got hit for $15, and box of a handful showed up in the mail.

I legitimately didn't know why they were there. Had to think about why/what happened. Still have them. AMEX did a chargeback.

The dirty secret is LMC makes most of the Square parts on the market. They sometimes get repacked. Same is true with most cars out there (Corvettes it's Paragon, for example.)

I'd avoid those two vendors like the plague; I've had shipping delays on every car I've restored. Most companies communicate, and explain why on the occasional order. These two are bad.

I called usa1 today to cancel the order on my dash pad after waiting 8 months, and being told twice that it was gonna ship within the next week. That never happened and the third time I called to check what was going on I was told it was 4-6 weeks out.

How the f@@k does it go from being a week out (twice) to being 4-6 weeks out??? Anyways, called and talked to a guy named Chris and told him I was gonna cancel, he asked if I could wait on hold while he physically went and checked on it and would let me know. So I said yes and waited….a few minutes later he gets back on the phone and said it’s boxed up and going out today.

I told him if I didn’t have a tracking number today I was going to call back Monday to cancel, he said I’d have it before the end of the day. I’m still in disbelief but 2 hours later I received an email with the tracking number.

FedEx says it will be here Thursday….yet I still think it’s a fake tracking number lol. We’ll see what happens Thursday.

Keep us posted! I really want to see if this stuff arrives Thursday like Chris said!

Do you have pics of it looking destroyed? It looks so well done, like it's a brand new dash pad. Great work!
