Judging from your signature block, the engine size might be the problem? Joined in 17 and this is your first post...also impressive.

First check all the tune up items, plug condition, fuel filter, air filter, timing, both advances, vacuum leaks, ect. After that engine not running look down front ventures for a decent squirt of fuel when throttle opened. If good then check fuel pressure if you haven't already. Disconnect EGR if equipped, test drive. If everything checks out then it's probably safe to assume carb is lean and will need o-haul.
