headlight/seat belt buzzer

just found out my 86 k5 originally had a headlight/seatbelt/ignition warning buzzer that was removed at some point, im wanting to put one back in, ive located where it plugs in but when i try to find one for an 86 all i can find is 6 pin that say their for an 86 k5, the spot for the buzzer in my truck has 7 pins, does anyone out there have any pics of the buzzer and/or know of where to get the right one

I found my last one at a junkyard. GM used the same alarm type for a lot of years

If I remember correctly the only difference is the 6 pin doesn’t have headlight alarm. It will have key & seatbelt alarm.

Can you post a pic of where this goes? Mine doesn't have one so I pulled power from the headlight switch to a reply and connected my own 'beeper' to it but hate the tone of it. It works but I'd like the factory buzzer.

85 on, it is located in the "convenience center". Roughly above the brake pedal- also where hazard flasher is.

A lot of the GM buzzer/alarms are interchangeable- they may have different alarm/buzzer chime tones.

I’m curious, why do people despise them? I get it, the key in the ignition chime is annoying, but the headlight warning would be worth the inconvenience.

On a related subject, it’s easy enough to disable the key warning, while leaving the other chimes functional.

Just the annoyance of the sound when I'm working on something or diagnosing something and need the key in/door open/whatever. I've always pulled them out of all my cars. But I'm almost like a pilot with my systems checks when I get in and out of the car, I don't need a buzzer to tell me what I've left on cuz I check everything.

I appreciate my buzzer also. I've heard you can swap to a module that has a less obnoxious tone...but I don't mind the old school buzz reminder for the rare occasions i need a reminder.

What year did they start using these?

To the best of my knowledge (for seat belt, key-in ignition, headlights on), these 7 terminal units appeared in the 1985 models (B-Bodies). Prior to that, it was the same package with 4 terminals and 3 wires that plugged in else where.
