head light switch not releasing with button

Anyone every have the button stop working on the headlight switch? Im wiring stereo stuff and need to remove the gauge bezel again, however, the little button on the head light switch to release the pull lever is not functioning apparently. I cannot get the damn thing out.

EDIT: nevermind, Im a dumba$$. For anyone who comes across this, pull the knob out FIRST. I was pressing the button first, and then pulling the knob, and it kept getting hung up

Some of those buttons can be pesky.. Hold the button in and push and pull the knob.. It will eventually release..

Make sure your light icon lines up when you reinstall. It has some rotation, but only goes so far depending on the orientation of the shaft.

I have a severely dented thumb from trying to remove that switch.
