Has anyone used Wintergreen oil to soften rubber seals?

The wizard I call my brother said to heat the rubber with a hair dryer (not a heat gun) then to soak in straight wintergreen oil for a few hours. Check and repeat if necessary.

Upset I was late on the joke.....was wondering if this was a rubber seal between you and a significant other.

That's what I've read too. Gonna try the heat gun on low, boiling in water, or the torch (@83chevyk10 Lol) , before soaking in the oil/alcohol.

bingo on the Simple Green. I am surprised you guys didn't know this. Simple Green works wonders on old dried out rubber. the more dried out the longer you soak it. highdesertranger
