I have seen that, but I thought it was just on the clusters with idiot lights. Does yours have the idiot lights or the gauge package?

Sorry i never saw this, but my truck did not come with any idiot lights. Only Guages.

Huh.... must be something to do with the earlier years.

I was just thinking I need to work on this again. All the parts are sitting in my basement collecting dust. I also put a couple of things on my watch list on eBay for this project. I told myself I was done with the truck and am going to work on the SS, but I always default back to the truck.

Old77 has the Dakota Digital in his truck. I've seen a local guy here with it, but he's not a member.

Dakota Digital has two (2) different types now. The actual digital ones that Old77 has, and the VHX line. Analog gauge style but powered digitally. If the VHX gauges could be had with green accents and backlighting, I would buy them in a heartbeat.

Frank, can you supply a pic of the cluster (including the "brains" that should be mounted somewhere in the vehicle)? I've got them in my truck and I know that mine came with wiring instructions and stuff of that nature that may be able to be had via download off the net somewhere if we know what model you have. It's been a few years since I installed mine so I don't remember nitty gritty details off the top of my head but I remember there is a computer that the gauges plug into on one end and then the other end has terminals (for lack of better word :shitsweak:) that the stock wiring connected into for things like speedo, tach, temp, oil,..... That's where the instructions come into play as where each wire is to go is outlined in that.

I will try to dig out my documentation on the gauges this weekend but for some reason I think my dad might have them at his house in his folder where we keep all the important truck "stuff"

Depends on what you want or like. This is my first set of them and they seem awful nice.
