Hey guys, got the 4 inch RC lift on the truck finally, but the front drive line is about an inch too short fully extended. Does anyone know of an aftermarket driveshaft or spacer for a 1977 k10? I would prefer not to have to go to a shop.

JE REEL has done 4 driveshafts for me.So them featured in Peterson’s 4wheel & offroad years ago. They make heavy duty shafts.Your gonna pay for it…might I suggest that if you do get a new shaft you upgrade your front pinion yoke to a 1350 series.

Or just find a local shop to re-tube it.Might as well have them rebuild your CV portion.Probably cost about 250$

How much extra length of play is a good amount for the slip yoke?

i have 8"s of lift in my K30 with a mostly stock shaft.
transfer case is dropped an inch, ground out the stops on my cv and bought a longer slip yoke. i did rip the ball outta the cv and replaced it with a H-D one couple yrs ago.
i think i paid around $125 for a longer yoke

For a stock truck, that doesn’t see heavy suspension movements,an inch either way is good.So you have an inch to extend and collapse. In other words 3 to 4 inch’s total movement and ideally, sitting in the middle of that at ride height.

The front on squarebody 4x4s extend, while the rear collapses.Assuming stock suspension or leaf springs.

So I ended up just taking the over extension clip out of the driveshaft and ordering the 1 inch spacer. Should have about an inch of play before it shows the splines. So I'm calling that good. However I dont know if should rebuild the cv. It is really stiff and requires some force to move. I'm wondering how easy/expensive it is?

Also I forgot to mention the reason I got the spacer is because portland driveline quoted me 700 bucks to do the whole job
