I found a set of 4 BFG A/T 31x10.5x15's on craigslist. Pretty decent price, previous owner says they have around 5k miles (he went to a bigger tire). I asked about any previous repairs - notes that one was flat when truck was in storage and has a little sidewall cracking from that. Is that anything I need to be concerned about?

Also - says there is no white lettering, black on both sides - I was suprised by that as I thought they always had white letters on one side.

I would not waste my time or my dime with dry rotted tires.

Shouldnt be any cracking on a 5k tire. Sounds like a 10 year tire that he bought from somebody else and sees all the cracking and now wants his money back.

When i got my truck, the tires on it had mabey 1k miles, but it sat alot of its life after it got new tires. So thats why mine have weather cracks.

I deal in used tires and we will not risk selling any tire that has weather cracking in them. If your going use it for offroad use then that's not a big deal, but they will more than likely blow out at highway speeds and hot weather
