I'd hate to try to find a set of those doors. Or are they more common than I think?

Just depends on the area I think. They don't exist in my area, I can tell you that much.

I can't say I've ever noticed there was that much difference. Is 74 the same? My dad had a gold 74 when I was a kid and I don't recall.

'73-'76 doors are the same. The difference between them and the later ones are the inside, the later ones have more holes and indents in them to accept power windows and the bigger door panels.

I thought the newer ones were much flatter on the inside and don’t have the sculpted area that the door panel sits inside of.

The sculped area is there on the newer ones, it just has other holes and things stamped into the sculped area as well.

I need to get myself one of these to restore. I figure I'll be retired in about 20 - 25 years. By then, I'll have it looking nice and the wife and I would have a cool rig to camp in around the country. :) Would be pretty nifty. Wonder if the wife

There was one for sale locally, looked like it was about in the same condition, but they were asking $6500 for it.

Just a word of caution , in 20-25 years things will change. You or your wife may not be able to access this rig. Old age has a habit of screwing with your legs and your balance and your health. Ask me how I know this! Although this will most likely be an item that will be easily sold or traded for something useful. Like maybe a walker or some crutches!!
