Those 305 heads were likely chosen to get the compression up a bit.

Yessir electrician by trade so I collect the old stuff. The rest is just metal detecting finds and bottles from digs.

Don't go too big on the cam. 283s like less cam. Being 60 over is probably why it runs hot when hitting higher rpms.

Crusty Biscuit, my 65 c20 ran hot when going down the highway, and it had a 3 row, shroud, and good fan. Plenty of air flow, just ran hot down the road.

My old 65 c20 Mean Green never went above 1/4 from "C" on the gauge, but it had a 4 row.
