After a search for a decent 85/87 shortbed, Its been a nitemare. I cannot believe how people are trying to get rich off junk trucks. The good ones are high dollar and im sure worth it. But projects should be sold as projects lol.

I found this one for $3500 and ended up getting it for less then half the price. I wont tell you the horror stories i went through on craiglist.

1987 GMC SIERRA CLASSIC fully loaded. Very minimal surface rust, very solid truck. The only ugly about it is its all cosmetics. Interior is all factory, A/C works, R134 everything works.. Only real problem is its a long bed. no big deal..
I am going to shorten the frame and find a stepside bed.

Ill post more pics tomorrow. The funny thing was my neighbor was sitting outside when the owner brought the truck to my house.
The first words out of his mouth was Nice truck, but you know GMC trucks dont sell for very much, the value keeps falling on these things..
I just laughed.

It runs great except for a slight rough idle. owner said the timing was off and needed a timing light. has a small exhaust leak also. Sounds like
from the manifold.

That truck was sitting on jack stands for almost a year untill the city complained. Then i saw craigslist add stating the top end was rebuilt. Interesting to find out how the rest of it is.

Its a solid truck. Not all hacked up. He put some money in the motor. Lots of new stuff. The only thing he did not do was go internal on the motor...
He trailered the car from College Station all the way to Houston. I started it when it was cold and it did not even smoke. We went for a good long freeway drive and they were no problems. I think I got a good deal for being an 87 fully loaded overdrive transmission 5.7 but it does have a hiccup that I have to figure out.. very minimal surface rust.
