Come on in and calm down. wheel width will depend on the tire you want to run, ish. About the widest 16 wheel I've seen is 7 maybe 8 inches. 16 inch tires seem to be tall and narrow, fine with me, it's what I like. If you want to run a wide tire like you have now on that nice truck prob should be looking at 17's. Being how your planning on buying wheels anyway, figure out what tire you want then find a wheel you like. None of that is gospel, just what an old fat man remembers and opinion.

I honestly don’t care to much about the size of the tire. I really just want it to be affordable. The tires that I’m finding for my rim now are around $400 dollars each. I’m hoping I can be around the $200 price range. But this seems like a good way to go about it so I will be doing more research. And I really appreciate the advice from everyone

My 79 c20 has 16.5 wheels on it and I found out about the price/selection of tires too. @#$% that.
In '21 I found some fancy pants 16" wheels with studded snow rollers (tires are 20 years old but with minimal use and proper storage - look incredibly good) for cheap in the size 265/75/16, which translates to roughly 31 x 10.50 x 16 and is not a size that will crack yer huevos too hard. Mainly bought for the wheels, because have you priced wheels lately? That's another topic... 32 lug nuts @ $3 a pop... yikes! I'm not 100% sure but these wheels seem to have an appropriate offset and are 10" wide. I have yet to mount onto the truck because so far its in a gathering parts stage and being winter, well, you understand. I haven't looked at the truck since I found the battery stolen.

Yeah, they're rollers. Even though they have no dry rot at all. Dude used them a couple months a year and stored them up in between. Used on a square G van.

Very nice! Because of all the help here I’ve been looking at used rims on Facebook market. I’m starting to feel a little more confident on what I can get (I think lol). But I’ll definitely be using that calculator! Thank you!

Welcome. For reference the old 16.5 x 33's are the same height as my 305/70R16s. 305's are about 1 cm narrower in section width. Mine are on 16x10s with 4.5" of BS. 16's tend to be the least expensive.

Right! I’m financially not in the best spot right now, and my “hobby” truck just became my daily driver. Long story but I will be keeping the 16.5 rims for a later date. As of now Winter is coming and my tires are actually dangerous.

Ok everyone I found some 17x7.5 on the market place and some cheap Firestone tires that I think will fit on it. What do you think?

Well let the learning begin. I hope that buying new lug nuts will fix it. Also is the boar of the rim supposed to center the wheel or do the lugs do it?had to see but there is a pretty large gap around the hub. The old lugs don’t fit in the new rims.

Looks like you need new lug nuts. Get some regular ole steel wheel lug nuts. The bevel on the nut should match the bevel on the wheel and kept tight will hold the wheel/tire centered. If you can find and afford them get the longer nuts that don't have a hole all the way through them, ie they keep the exposed threads covered. Don't have to have them but will understand when you have a flat. Far as the center hole goes, it don't have to fit.
