I’m also learning about the backspacing. I think I’m going to be ok with the rims I got, but they are close to the sway bar. There is a inch difference. The old rim looks to be about 5 inches offset/ backspaced, the new one is 6”. But, if it’s not touching I guess it’s ok… right? Also I don’t know what it is but this thing has some kind of a lift kit because I think there will be tons of room for the tires.

The bore fitting the hub vs. the lugs centering the wheel. That is hubcentric vs. Lugcentric. Depending on who you ask you'll get different answers. It's a Chicken vs. Egg kinda thing. If you're worried about it do your own research.

No offense, but looks sketchy to me. The whole "can of worms" thing. You are going to spend more trying to make mismatched things work together, than if you had found some wheels that fit the truck. And you would be happier with nice looking, correct fitting wheels. Please, post some pictures of the truck when you get the wheels and tires on it.

Welcome to the site. 16.5's are difficult to find and expensive when you do find them. The big hoops on an old Square doesn't look right to me unless it's a lowered or bagged truck. The workhorse 8-luggers look great with an old wagon wheel or the factory wheels...IMO. The large diameter wheels just don't fit the vibe of these old irons...IMO. It's reverse for the newer trucks too. My son had an '01 2500HD lifted to the moon with 37 14.50 20's and they looked like they belonged on the truck (been better to have 10" wide instead of the super-offset 12"s). When those steamrollers wore out we put on a set of my 16.5's with 37 OZ's and it absolutely ruined the look of the truck.
