Running the truck on it's 2nd break-in.
Running between 2500-3000rpm.
Getting code 44 (lean exhaust).
I assume I need to increase fuel psi at regulator. I haven't set idle timing yet, I was going to get her broke in 1st?
I thought my Maddox gauge said 14psi at location just past fuel filter though...
She is Running hot, but in the garage with back end out, so no air other than fan and aux Running. Gets above 210.
What hits ya? Double ck psi, should I increase yet...don't worry about excessive heat going 70mph in garage?

remind me, do you have a scanner to see O2 sensor voltage and fuel trims?

could be that it is actually lean, and fuel pressure needs to increase. could also be a bad O2 sensor or a wiring issue in the O2 harness.

Only current thing I use for codes are the service light. So NO.
I did get a USB to obd1 from obd diagnostics. This should allow me to run like rt tuner pro and get real-time info once I purchase and download. This will also (in my mind) help me determine if I want to goto upgrading the ecm via dynamic efi and program. Sorry windy fyi explanation.
Using old 02, pigtail looks good.
I have a heated 3-wire WB for future.

I was thinking there is a free version of tuner pro?

you could at least maybe check the O2 voltage by backprobing to see what it is reading. and then unplug it and check the voltage at the connector. it should be between .35 and .55 volts

@gmbellew, I think your right. I'll go on-line...thought that maybe when I typed. I'll ck voltage and psi again too. But the laptop is up my geekside ally. Thx

How many minutes you got on it? It very likely is lean held at 2500 rpm,no load,I've had engines get the exhaust redhot on cam break in. If they are too hot I let em cool and go at it again. After break in oil is changed( I change it hot immediately after cam break in) anyway break in the cam, time it,tweak it see if the problem doesn't just go away on its own. You are running in a very unique set of circumstances at cam break in.
