****... if they are leaking and not made of multi layer copper or aluminum. Best bet the heat and exhaust has trashed them :-(

I have a set of headers to put on, I have just been putting it off because it's going to be a nightmare. I have heard of manifold leaks causing popping upon deceleration but haven't heard of it being a problem at idle. I have a couple of short wires touching the valve covers. I will see what I can do to move them but with short wires and tall covers there's not really anywhere to go. Say it is a valve that needs adjustment. Is it possible to pull plug wires until I find that cylinder and then just adjust those, or do I need to go ahead and do them all. I don't want to half ass it if they all need to be done.

Cold air leaks back into the cylinder and causes that pop lean backfire

Damn plugs are solid black and covered in gas again. They don't have 10 minutes of run time on them.

Plugs that are covered in black is a sign of a truck running pig rich and should be looking at your carb and or plugs.

Wrong temperature of plugs can cause issues too.

Three carbs that do the same thing points the finger else where... plugs are two steps hotter then stock.

It's either a valve or an intake leak leak. I put the Eddy back on and fired it up. It pulls more vacuum than the qjet did. But the needle on my gauge was bouncing rapidly between 7-10". It started popping a bit after it warmed up. Why would the gauge show 2" steady at idle on the qjet but get a completely different reading on the Eddy?

That adaptor :-(qjet should always pull more vacuum due to the venturi size and better flow

I sealed up the leaks in the adapter the other day. You think it's too tall and causing turbulence? I had a guy tell me that with this intake I needed to run the adapter with the 4 holes in it but that's the first time I have heard of that. And why does it keep fouling out these damn plugs so fast?

It's not a good design. Taller is better but design is what matters. If your intake has open flange style then yes a 4 hole adaptor will do better then this one

That video sounded like an intake backfire to me. Like a cam going flat...

We will see. I'm tired of guessing. Compression test was good so I'm going to pull the intake today and see what it looks like. If it's fine I will start taking everything apart to re cam.
