So you got you some from an 02 Montana? So you're using them as aux fans instead of the main fans?

no they are gonna be my main fans , that fan you see is the factory aux fan installed from the factory ,the Montana fans will be used instead of the clutch fan.

There was an aux fan from the factory? I don't remember seeing one on my old 86 K5 or my dad's 87 K5.
Was it an option?

It was an option on the 3/4 and 1 tons as a Heavy Duty Cooling Package If Understand Correctly. As far as I know, it only comes with 454 too.

That's the results I had been anticipating when I ran a cooler stat. Didn't work that way for me.

It worked for me and for the cost of the thermostat, it's worth a try for those with engines that run a little too warm.

I think the design of the thermostat is important too. I just switched from a standard flow MotoRad 180* t-stat (part # 200180) to a High flow MotoRad 160* (part # 2000160) with a 3/16" bypass hole drilled in it. This is in my Camaro which has a built 400 small block. Temps sitting at idle with my ****** electric fan on dropped 15-20 degrees.

Rockauto has the MotoRad stainless steel High Flow thermostats for under 4 bucks. Part numbers: 2000160, 2000180, 2000195

I've ran a 180 stat in my TBI Burb for 7 years and it always goes into closed loop in a short amount of time. I have had a heated O2 for several years (mostly because the long tube headers) but it was fine before that too.
