Saw this at Copart yesterday, and took my cam today. I got to see, touch, feel and sit in this thing. It was actually nicely done. I coudn't get over how clean the car was. IIRC it had 73,000 miles on it. I looked at a few others too so I might be mistaken. Anyway, Copart is selling this thing. I thought it was a bit interesting. Not sure I like it cuz of being a cross breed, or if I like it cuz its so damn clean.

Looks nicely done, but weird. It would have been much nicer looking it they just made an El Camino look like a Monte SS, with the doors and quarter skins and all.

Back in '93 or '94, Motor Trend had a few GM concept vehicles in it. One was a Lumina Z34 that got the El Camino treatment and it looked absolutely fantastic. The proportions were perfect.

I guess the reason someone did it was for the back seat.

You found a nice shot! The coverage in the Motor Trend was much smaller, I don't even remember if it was mentioned on the cover.

Defs a cool car, almost looks way ahead of its time when you compare it to the Holden if that car was in present time I could see it selling with the price of fuel these days

It's been said, El Camino has a good chance of coming back, and if it does, it will be a Holden built. Being that it's a Holden built, might keep sales of it low and slow, so GM is still on the fence about it and may just punt bringing back the El Co for certain. It's been in the works for some time now. It's even been made, but available it Austraulia only IIRC.

Yeah, but real AMERICAN throwback made by Holden in Austraulia haven't been successful. Look at the GTO for example. All it was, was a ReBadged Holden to a GTO. GTO fans called it a disgrace. I'm afraid, true diehard El Camino fans that would buy it, would feel the same way and I think GM realizes that.

Yea I hear yea man like I said before, I can't stand how they are bringing back names these days like the charger its an intrepid with a hemi, now they're talking about bringing.back the dart guess what it looks like a neon on steroids, sickens me, who honestly thinks of charger or dart and the first thing that comes to they're head is 4 door, with every luxury in the book, atleast the mustang challenger and camaro hold the lines of the legends they are, it'd be cool if they did something like that with the El Camino, a Holden El Camino would be big talk and then it'd be a myth like the gto as you've said but then again if you can build 3-4 cars off the same platform and call it everything in the book why not lol, too many things are about money money money these days i guess
