Well it seems you are finally making steady progress on this thing. I guess I better get working on my Nova, because I remember teasing you and saying my car would be on the road before yours. But dammit it's still cold outside, lol.

Really getting the itch to work on my Monte too. I will have to make a build thread when the work commences.

I know what you mean.... Today the high was 17, and it SNOWED a lil. Just enough to cover the ground.

Have anyone local that specializes in buying converters? That one laying there should be worth about 60 bucks if it has an air tube or closer to 85 bucks if it lacks an air tube and has "AC" stamped on it.

Just the scrap yards, it depends on what they weigh, i also have 2 out of a ford to take in.

lol at first i was like "wtf how did he see my converters" Then i realised you were talking about the exhaust lol, i was thinking torque converters.

That's a shame. Different models of converters are worth a lot more because of variances in the material inside, not so much because of weight. You often get screwed taking to a scrap yard. Not always, but often.

Well today i got the tranny lines disconected from the tranny and pulled them out, got the linkage disconected from the tranny, pulled out the Driveshaft, and cleaned the crossmember(the old 305 leaked oil) Tomarro hopfully the tranny will be out. and i can start prepping the other th350 *non-lockup* to go in. Also i need to get a tranny mount, somewhere along the way it decided to be divorced lol, so i have a 2 piece tranny mount. It was dark and i didnt think it was picture worthy.

I bought an "Iceman" crossmember for my SS. Nice double hump for exhaust clearance. I didn't feel like spending the time "building" one or trying to fix mine.

A lot of guys say that. After actually having it in my hands, I can assure you it would stand up to the motor you are building. Hell, there's a good number of guys running them behind 800+ hp drag cars with absolutely no problems. They are made out of nice DOM material. Not trying to change your mind or anything either. If you can build one your self for cheap, that is a good way to go too.

This is just a temporary engine, atleast untill i can put something meaner together, I have that Truck Ls2 that im wanting to put in it, and ive been thinking about putting a bigblock in something. So im kinda prepping it for a little more umph later on. Thank you for the sugestion tho, If this is all i was gonna run, then i would go that route, but i plan to do some heavy launching on it, and i cant afford it to fail.
