OK, so try as suggested. We know you know how to use screws. I seen that rust repair.
I thnk that plate is at least an inch all the around the striker. So try to use a couple self taper screws on both sides of the striker into the plate to hold it still. Keep in mind, that plate is alot thicket metal. So I wouldn't expect to go in without working it a bit. I'd go slow with steady pressure and let the self tapper do the work. Worth a try anyway.

Oh, and if the self tapper don't work, then use a drill bit. Drill a hole, then put a screw in it.

Yeah, I'll check it out after work today. I'm going to pull the inside pillar panel and see if the is access there or not. The only problem I have with drilling and scrweing it is I need to adjust the postion of the striker so the door shuts and locks in the right spot, so if I drill and screw it it can't be adjusted, you know what I mean?

Got my **** fixed! :High 5:

I took the panel off the pillar between the front and rear doors and there is access holes guys! :005:

I was able to get a wrench in there on the nut on the inside, changed from felt washers to steel washers, and my door striker is perfeclty happy now. :)

I didn't really rebuke you, but I took 89S's word for it since he had a Burb and I did have to wonder how you'd get access thru a pillar. So I blame it on 89S, he shoulda know this. I haven't got to play with my Burb yet to know. I will soon though. I hope. I hope to be assembling my bro's trans this week, then I'll be assembling the Turbo 400 for my Burb. Then I just need to finish the motor and by that time, I am sure that wiring harness will be here. So hopefully before end of spring.

See what you did 89S !!!
