Door stop broken

Guys Im restoring an '87 v10 - all stock long bed, 350.

My drivers side door doesnt stop correctly. Lookig at it tonight, it looks like there's a loop that pressures the 'small wheels' that are attached to the hinges.

I dont know what its called or even how to replace. Please see pic below -

Can anyone tell me how to replace and qhat its called?

That's the detent that holds the door open so it doesn't fall closed when the truck is facing uphill. To repair it, you just have to replace the hinge.

Years ago when these squares were plentiful, you could buy just the spring from the Helps board at the part stores. If the notched rollers are rusted or worn, then you would need the whole hinge. They also sold a neat tool to change the spring in minutes too.

If you can't find the spring for a decent price shipped let me know. I think I have a set and we can make a deal on one.
I just sold a cab that had a brand new one, I should have pulled it off and put one of these used units on it.

When I restored my k5 I put new top hinges with the spring and rebuilt the lowers (bushings and pins).
Bought AMD brand, work well.

I got new pins to install....springs on door are good so far. just play from worn out pins.

If you didn't find one yet let me know, I pull the 2 off the cab I am selling without doors. They aren't new but I will sell you one for just the shipping cost. Of course I can't promise it will last another 35 years
