There is a lot of play in my steering wheel and when turning right the truck will occasionally not respond until its turned quite a bit. I've replaced the steering gear, the steering shaft and tire rods with no changes. Before I look into changing out the pitman arm has anyone experienced this. I thought for sure changing the steering gear would resolve. Thanks!

I have not. The things that come to mind that you haven't replaced yet, are tie rod ends, and assuming it's the v2500 in your information under your ? avatar, drag link, leaf spring bushings.

So I would assume 4wd. I know mine needs a push sometimes. But only when it gets warm. My belts look shot to crap, and I was going to tighten tension on ps belt and see if it fixes. If it does, I was going to replace the belts because it tells me it is time. (10 years ago was probably time)

A bad idler arm will allow the drag link to move fore and aft. This was my last steering play issue. How are the ball joints?

Before throwing more parts at the system. Have someone turn the wheel back and forth through the whole play area. Watch each of your joints to see how much play there is.

As a reminder a small amount of play in each joint adds up to a lot of play when you add a bunch of joints together.
