I am replacing my 81 cab with a 85 cab. the wiper controls are on the turn signal on the 85. The wiper switch is in the dash on 81 I am just assuming that I should just pull the dash wiring out of the 81 and put it in the 85. I have not taken dash bezel off yet on 85... is the dash set up for a wiper switch behind the bezel on the 85 ?

Here's the picture of my '85 dash (photo #1). Photo #2 is my '79 with an 81-84 dash. You can see the headlight switch in the '85 will have to be moved down to fit the earlier wiper switch.

awesome. I was all worried I would have to get a new column....I should be able to pull the wiring out of the 81, to put in the 85 and move the light switch.
thanks!

If you are swapping the cab, why not just keep everything complete inside it? does it not have any interior/dash?

Might be worth checking with American Autowire or wiringharness.com to see if they have a solution.

You could install a floor shifter for the automatic. The basic B&M Uni-matic is fairly cheap and works well. There's no fancy features like a gear indicator, or park interlock, but like I said, it's fairly cheap and works well.
