Dana 60 conversion?

Ive never converted a dual wheel Dana 60 to a single, what does it take?

Replace the bearing hub and rotor assemblies.

I did just this. Bought a dana60 DRW then bought a set of SRW hubs and new bearings and seals and went on my way.

I think we are going to leave my daughters truck a drw truck, but I just bought another truck that is an 81 or 82 that is a single rear wheel truck and we are going to build 2 trucks now! You know dad needs one also.

If you have a cab and chassis then its a 14 bolt.

That pic is nice but 60's and 70's can use the same cover which makes it useless for differentiating between the two.

Because the axle came with the hubs and rotors for a DRW truck. Front axles come in SRW and DRW versions, but obviously there's not dual wheels up front, that's just the common terminology.

Yes on the front axle, Sorry for the confusion. We were considering going to a single wheel but I'm just going to leave it alone, I have been gathering parts for a month and have just about enough stuff to do the entire chassis. I need to get the big block out of the 2wd so I can get it torn down and see what I'm up against and get it to the machine shop and get it assembled. My daughter is chomping at the bit to get this project going.
