Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I've got a Dana 44 front axle with flat top knuckles to get rid of and looking for approximate value. I'm in midwest (wisconsin) and looking to sell it locally. It's from a 1975 3/4 ton and has 4.10 gearing. I was thinking around $250...don't want to think it's worth more than it is. Thanks.

Call the local junkyard and ask how much axles are going for. It all depends on the area. I can get an axle (non 1T) for 125 here.

I would think that is a very fair price and should be easy to sell. If I were local, I'd pay it and not complain about the cost.

Thanks all for the comments. My understanding is that off-roaders can use the flat-top knuckles to set up crossover steering...something like that. I just know that they have a little more resale value than a later Dana or the GM 10-bolt front axle.

That's a fair price. I have one also to sell with 3.73 gears in it. I am probably posting it at $300. They are getting hard to find.

Drivers side always has one... it's finding the passenger flatty that makes it a big deal. As Kilian above said, it's required for that second steering arm on a cross over steering setup. A good machine shop can drill and tap the flat top for the tapered steering arm studs.

Fair price, I have seen them around here in the yards that know what they are for $250-$300. Just replaced the axle in our K20 and I paid $150 for a D44 that I stripped out and swapped my knuckles and hubs over on anyway so I could maintain the bigger hubs and flat top knuckles.
