I MAY have a lower cost alternative to the Borgeson steering shafts using a shaft from another vehicle. It works on later model SBs. Not sure when the changeover was, I think '77.
Jeep Cherokee steering shaft...very minor mods needed, at least on the later model squares.
I thought this was common knowledge by now? I did my first one about 5 years ago, and it wasn't exactly a new idea then.

Here's an unmodified Cherokee shaft next to the shaft from my S10. I can't imagine the Cherokee shaft working in a SB.
