After that and ball joints get done, should just be timing belt oil pan and filter and maybe crank seal oil pump seal... Then jack her down on steelies for final tq of axle nut , then castle nut and cotter pin passenger and driver side, then back up to mount the 17"s... And tire balance/alignment, and should be golden mechanically if all goes as planned...

No transmission oil leaks with new gasket... About 1 qt overfull but I wonder if I fire her up and idle if it will suck up and go to normal level... I can always let some out.... Still need to fill gearbox with ATF but I think ill need to pull airbox out again to get to it near firewall...
Now just need wheels balanced and alignment...
And cooling system ... For likely another CA drought 100+ summer ahead. Hate to put in all this work to overheat her... And parts are fairly cheap... Likly $200ish
Plis oil leak timing belt/ oil pan and filter...likely $300ish
Paint , tint , bluetooth deck and the braces would be nice....

I think a little will get sucked in to various crevices when you start it up. I wouldn’t say a quart but maybe between a cup and a pint. That’s just a guess, though.

Good to know... I was kinda thinking that as the filter has the cavity...

Yeah, you're not missing how the traffic on buisness 80 is getting almost like the bay area... Before I got this spot, I considered Reno, but got a job out here...

So I didnt make it to pick n pull as if you ever did speedo cable clister removal it can be a pain, getting speedo cable slack, and the back removal from in the cabin can be frozen with time and brittle

No luck...... But I did notice this resonator part of airbox... I had 1994 Buick roadmaster lt1 back in the day that has same airbox resonator you use a hockey puck to block off and eliminate...This is the same but smaller scale. Probly use a pvc cap on this for straighter shot on intake airflow...nit mich, but every little bit helps...

So I had wanted to put gear oil in, so I could driver her down for alignment/ balance, but felt gear box was empty as per the youtube video, theI gearbox is seperate from transmission, and filled separately. When I replaced cv axles, fluid came out so I felt it needed filling. I looked up youtube video, but could not find fill location, even though I had filled up transmission....
So I started to research again, as there is no haynes or Chilton for this model...
So one guy says they are connected (meaning transmission and transaxle fluids mix)

Then I saw in a 3spd to 4spd swap page a guy break down the different models of transmissions..

So I went and looked at door jam,

Bingo for the four speed...so the next thing was...

Apparently the four speed transmission/transaxle IS all connected, and the you tube guy must've been a three spd throwing me off... So I have to put the airbox all back together, but explains why I couldn't find a fill hole... I will call toyota parts early am to see what they say, but it appears I am overfull to the hot hashmarks when cold... I almost want to idle it to see if the level drops, but dont want to hurt the transmission...

Nevada is pretty cool. I live in Elko which is northeast, almost to utah and idaho borders. I was over there during christmas but damn the traffic has gotten bad, you aren't lying. I was mostly over near La Riviera drive and arden and stuff like that when I came out though.

It used to be okay, but the older I get, it just gets miserable when its a straight week of temps like 107,107,108,110,105....AND still 100 @ 2am with no cool down... it can get old, and I miss the bay area...
