Cs130 altenator not working.. maybe?

So my altenator hasn't been working.. or at least the voltage kn my gauge dosnt go up since I rebuilt my truck. I haven't gotten around to much addressing the issue due to other things like brakes.

It's a cs130 altenator. And I re wired with a painless kit. The altenator is also brand new because the other one decided to break and didn't want to be fixed.

Have you checked for voltage at the output post on the alternator?

Just did. No change. It actually dropped.

STEP ONE, run a lug'ed cable to the ground hole on the back of the CS130 and use a bolt to hold it. clean the aluminum first.
OR
Clean the aluminum to the alt brackets, then the alt brackets to the intake/water pump/block

Then clean the battery negative and attach to the bracket as is factory. make sure the battery connection is clean.


STEP 2

Wherever the charge wire is going, run it to the battery positive. Should be a large wire. Clean the stud on alt, clean wire connections, run to battery positive.


THEN STEP 3

Use a 194 light bulb and create an alligator clip on one end of this "wire" (the 194 is in the wire somewhere)

Make this long enough to reach the alternator and the battery positive. Touching the battery positive with one end, and alligator clip it to the alternator L terminal while the engine is running, should cause the engine to load down a bit, and your alternator to produce current. have a volt meter on the output or the battery when you do this to make sure it goes up.


DOES IT GO UP? GOOD.
DOES IT NOT? BAD REGULATOR. MISSED STEPS. JUMPER HARNESS FELL APART. try again, or write back here

Puting a wire between the switched power one (just before the resistor) and the battery made it work.
Now It seems my white wire switch isn't working?

Idk what that means
And I hope you didnt mean you put full 12v to the regulator connector
