I have several tilt colums but none that are floor shift. We just knock shifter out and use colum shift on our stuff. I've only seen one of those colums in all my trucks I've had so must be hard peace to find

Truthfully don't really even care if it's tilt. I just want something so I can remove the stock 3 on the tree column.

Im looking for a decent set of dually alloys if ya got any. Also, I seen a visor mentioned a few times. Id be interested in it, lighted or not, as long as itll fit around my pre-existing cab lights lol. Im not too far from ya, so shippings not an issue

I know feeling hotrod, My towing business is way in the hole, scrap market went to crap, and having health issues, myself. If it wasn't for finances, county on me, and realizing I have way to much stuff I would never part with any of my squares. I'm to the point of getting rid of all of it and buying a brand new rollback, and duramax dually and enjoying what little free time I get other than working in shop. I even have my own limo in the back yard I have never even rode in because I haven't had time to fix a flat tire on it.

That sucks. You're right, scrap prices fell. I think we're down to $150 a ton for car bodies and it's been as high as $240 a ton.

I was at $280 at on first of year. that puts a square on scales at $700-$750. makes them rare to save at those prices. today I am at $180 a ton. that's less than $500 on scale .

Yep, wasn't long ago you could get real close to $800 for a Suburban, and throw some other metal in it, like some trash wheels or another engine/trans in the back of it you'd get over $900.

For future reference to ANYONE, my ideal truck is a 73-79 (round headlights) with a 350/4 speed (prefer the one with the regular 4, not the granny low with 3 useable gears) and if possible, a 1/2 ton. .

What trans is that? What are the advantages? I have a K25, 350/465, myself.

Do you happen to have an '84+ floor shift steering column? I'm local, so you wouldn't have to deal with shipping it.

Only seen 1 & it's Next door to my dads...70s C/K 30/35 crew/dually/454. Truck is scrap, but buried behind a barn.

I've seen 3 or 4 floor shift tilt columns at the yards when I pulled the pedals or in 1984 trucks....Should have grabbed them?

Yaaaa. :p

I'm still around here. I stay pretty busy anymore towing. Those 454 vortecs are a hard find. I got lucky when I bought a 98 K3500 that needed on, local contractor had a wrecked on I had towed in and they made a deal on the truck to me. I still have the 78 k20 4 speed truck, a 86 k20 crew cab shortbed project truck, a 78 c20 crew cab, the white K5 blazer, and probably a few more that need to go. No time for projects anymore, barn is clear full of parts for projects I may never get to. We are running 3 wreckers, 2 rollbacks, and 2 service trucks now in the towing business and it's a full time job keeping them on the road
