could i put a Tbi on a 383 stroker?

hi guys im thinking when it comes time to pull my motor which will be not until a long time hopefully knock on wood,, i was thinking because my motor is 350 tbi and i know the 383 is a 350 block just different internal parts inside the motor if im correct idk but i was wondering if everything would fit on a 383 such as intake manifold for the tbi , all the pulleys, air conditioning pump, and the smog or (air pump) called will that all fit on a 383 because i know you need the airpump for the tbi so overall im asking you guys will a tbi and all the other parts for the tbi i explained fit fine on a 383 stroker and run fine and fit fine"?

Everything's gonna work as far as fitment, but the stock 350 injector unit is a bit on the insufficient side as far as CFM and injector capacity go. It'd probably work best to use a TBI out of a 454 truck or motor home and the fuel pump for a TBI 454, as well. You'd have to get a PROM burned to the new engine parameters also, which can be done mail order but better done by someone who can actually see and interface with the truck. Are you under emissions constraints in wanting to keep the smog pump? If so, that's only slightly constraining. You could do a performance intake with EGR, a set of headers using a heated O2 sensor, and a cam and heads of your choosing. I think if you figured out, in advance, how to overcome the built-in hindrances of TBI, built a motor with the specs you wanted, and then programmed the computer correctly to meet all the new parameters, you'd have a sweet ride. Oh, to answer all your questions, you're basically taking a 350 and putting a different crankshaft (i.e. one from a 400 SBC) in it to enhance the piston stroke. That and boring it out .030 over gets you to 383 cubic inches of displacement. If you decide to go with an aftermarket intake, there may some customized fitment with certain things, but a small block Chevy is a small block Chevy, whether it's a 265 or a 400, so they all follow the same blueprint in terms of fitment and what not.

Yeah idk I might stay with 350 then but no I don't have to do anymore emissions if that's the case can I get rid of the smog ?

Yep. It's just the pump/belt, the diverter, and the vacuum tubing. If you stay with manifolds, you have to plug the holes that the AIR lines thread into, or you can go with headers, but you'll need to wire up a heated O2 sensor so it won't throw codes, mess up the mixture, and lower your fuel economy.

Shouldn't have to change fuel pumps. I have a 91 burb I recently put a 454 in, before I did I looked up the part number for a fuel pump with a 1/2 ton 350 and for a 3/4 ton with a 454 and got the same part number for both.

I believe earlier TBI 454's had the same fuel pump (9-13 PSI) as the 90 degree V6 and the SBC's, but later ones had fuel pumps that operated (ideally) at 26-32 PSI to feed upgraded injectors. I think it just depends on the year, but the later TBI fuel pump is ideal to feed a performance 383, as is a shaved and bored smaller TBI unit or the larger 454 TBI unit. All that with the appropriate PROM tuning, of course. And when I say later I mean around the last two or three years of TBI as opposed to all the others preceding being what I meant as earlier.

Sure. I would. I'd keep it all though, the only difference I would make is to swap to a BB TBI.
The engine is only going to take as much (gas)as it needs but only if it's made available to it.
As stated above, I concur that a 383 is more gas thirsty than the STOCK small block TBI unit can mechanically deliver.

Pretty sure its physically the same exterior dimensions and bolts to the small block intake. I wouldn't change ANYTHING else.
But that's all gmt400 ******** that idgaf about, because it's not cool.
