Lug nuts all tight? Does applying the brakes change the noise?

I'll double check the tightness of my lug nuts. And I don't remember applying the brakes making any difference to the noise level. Except that when slowing down the noise slowed down to match my speed.

To me Id pull out the hub locker and check out your bearings. If the brakes are newer(Did it do it before) id check to make sure your bearings have good, fresh grease and also are not worn out.

New bearings would be a good idea anyways. I only change the pads, not the rotors because I didn't want to fool with the wheel bearings and auto lockers. But it's looking like it's time for a front end rebuild.

Yesh, Id do every servicable part and replace them with greaseable ones. New u joints so when in 4wd you dont have issues either. My truck has low mileage on front end but if I were to daily use it it would need a lot of work again because the amount of years has lead to rubber boots and such degrading.

yep, ya gotta remember, it is 36 years old and the last time something was replaced, it may have been a subpar (cheap) part. just how long will it give you to holler "oh! shittttttt!" before it kills you?
