After doing some deducing and maths, it came to my attention that it would end up to be cheaper and much less work to get new bedsides for my 79 rather than reworking the ones I was planning on using.
Around $460(shipped) for all the patch panels needed for my bedsides, then all the metal work on them, getting them media blasted, body work I'm sure I would end up over $700 (the cost for two new sides) by the time I'm done.
Since I live on the Right side of Missouri and Classic Parts is on the Left side of Missouri, its only around 250 miles one way, but not too bad of a distance at all, and LMC is close by too so my friend that owns the K5 and me are planning on making a trip out west to save on shipping.
So has anyone used or heard anything about these panels? LMC only currently stocks short bed sides, but I am planning on getting a GM licensed reproduction tailgate and a 79-80 hood from them while we are out that way. If the pictures are anything to go by, they look pretty nice and since I would be picking them up no worry about them getting damaged in shipping.
