LOL! It would be... But it is the van my wife grew up with and she won't drive a vehicle that big. We would have a Suburban by now if she would drive a big vehicle.

Damn it, I just wasted a lot of time reading up on guys doing build ups on these motors. And that was just for trucks, apparently Chevelle guys grab these and have fun with them too. As much as I really like the idea of a stock SS, getting a little crazy with it would be fun too!

You can have your cake and eat it too. Just build your SS how Chevy should have to begin with, with a big block. Just pick your parts carefully and avoid the chrome and billet type stuff and it can still end up stock "appearing".

Most definitely no chrome or billet for me! I limit that to wheels. Painted stuff underhood is the way I prefer. And not glossy either, semi-gloss at the most or satin finish.

I would keep it EFI also. Seems 400hp out of these motors is fairly easy even with EFI. And of course the torque to go with it!

More research for me in the up coming weeks...

Well keep me updated on what you mind out. I need to start collecting parts and pieces to swap a LS series into the blazer when I find one.

Sounds like a good powertrain combo. The wheels on the 1-ton vans should be heavier than the 3/4 tons since the steel is supposed to be thicker.
